Character Interview and Giveaway: ReVamped by Ada Adams

So I recently had the opportunity to sit down and talk with Dawn, Brooke and Sophie from Ada Adams' ReVamped. I was quite excited as I loved this book! You can read my review HERE!

Thank you ladies for taking some time out of your busy schedules to speak with me. I only have a few questions for each of you, so you should be back to protecting Angel Creek in no time.

So starting with you, Dawn.

1.  You've finally been sent on your first mission ever! Just how excited were you? Is Angel Creek as great as you'd thought it would be?

D: I was very excited. I had been waiting for my father to send me on a mission ever since I turned sixteen. I had been training for it all my life! But no matter how much I pleaded with him, he wouldn't. I admit that I resented him for that, but now I obviously know that he had a good reason for trying to protect me. I just wish I knew before everything that happened this summer...

Yeah, some of those things would have been nice to know earlier. At least you know it now though.

2. How do you think you'll be able to pick between Ethan and Sebastian? They are both such great guys!

D: Currently, things are a bit complicated. Brooke and Sophie have been telling me to trust my heart, but my brain always ends up taking over. And my brain is ordering me to stay away from guys and focus on training. I guess it's trying to protect my heart, but since I'm far away from Scarlet House and living with a group of vampires who clearly follow their hearts, it's becoming harder and harder to keep myself from feeling things.

Well, I'm sure when you're ready, you'll follow your heart.

3. Are you looking forward to more adventures in Angel Creek? Or are you hoping life will slow down so you can relax and enjoy your new freedom a bit? I'm sure there is a lot that you need to think over with the huge reveal during your mission, all of that Aurora business.

D: It's true that I've been through a lot this summer, but I really hope we'll have some exciting adventures. Hopefully, missions that involve lots of butt-kicking and don't really affect me personally. I'm still dealing with everything that happened, especially the things regarding Aurora and my family. Angel Creek, the gang, and the promise of future missions are helping me keep the negative thoughts away from my mind for the time being.

Thank you Dawn, that's all of the questions I have for you right now. I'd like to ask Brooke a couple of questions now.

1. Brooke, you've been a high school cheerleader for almost 55 years. Now that you have some friends to celebrate your graduation with, do you think you'll decide to graduate?

B: Definitely not before I win that [Prom Queen] crown. But I've heard that President Twitbrook is trying to pass some lame "no vampire left behind" law that will stop vampires from repeating grades in school. I'm sure it's just all for publicity, so it better not happen! I guess I could give college guys a try. I'd be so perfect for a sorority, don't you think?

I know you would! I can see you in a sorority now!

2. How are you enjoying being a protector of Angel Creek?

B: The whole thing seemed a lot cooler when it was the Fab Five doing it. Those guys had such great abs and they always walked around without their shirts on. Yumm! At least we have Ethan and Sebastian around for eye candy, even though their eyes always seem to be on Dawn. I guess time will tell. Maybe we'll get a hot new team member?

That would definitely make things more interesting for you!

3. Do you feel any guilt at all for turning Seth?

B: Why does everyone keep asking me this? Okay, yes, I don't feel great about it. I honestly didn't mean to turn him. But, don't you think it's a small price to pay for getting to second base with a cheerleader? If he hadn't died on me, who knows how far he would ave gotten!

Ada: I think we're going to cut Brooke off now...

I think you're right Ada, we wouldn't want to have to censor you Brooke! That was my last question for you, so now I have a couple for Sophie.

1. Hi Sophie! Just wondering, why a librarian? (not that I wouldn't enjoy having an eternity to read all the great books that are out!)

S: Hi Jenn. Thank you for the interview. I'm so glad to hear that you enjoy books as well.

*looks down shyly*

I spent most of my childhood reading to my best friend Charlotte, as she was bed-ridden with her "sickness" for many years. Books remind me of her and the happy times that we spent together. In a way, by being a librarian, I'm keeping that connection alive. I often like to go back to the stories we read as kids and reread them. It takes me back to the time and place when I knew with certainty that Charlotte truly loved me.

B: Someone pass me a Kleenex!

That is somewhat sad, but a great way to remember Charlotte. I know you must miss her a lot.

2. Are you enjoying having new friends to hang out with?

S: It's different. We're such a big group and it's always very loud at the cottage. I barely get time to read because we're training so much. But I really like Dawn.

*Brooke glares at her*

...and Brooke. Everyone is slowly learning to be a team. It's a wonderful thing.

3. What are you most looking forward to in the future?

S: Angel Creek has a really special festival at the end of September. I've heard lovely things about it, but I've never been. It always seemed kind of busy and scary. I think it will be nice to attend this year, since I have a big group to go with.

Well, I hope you have a lot of fun at the festival, Sophie. Thank you ladies again for taking the time to speak with me. It's been a pleasure!

  12. I really enjoyed this book, I did not have any expectations and I was pleasantly surprised. Vampires had come out of the closet so to speak and were now an accepted group within society. A different take on the vampire story with Dawn a 'born' vampire whose mission was to train up a group of misfit vampires in Angel Creek to protect the human population. A couple of love interests, one human and another secretive vampire, a twist on the idea of family and there you have it. I am looking forward to reading more about Dawn and how she survives in a world where everything she believed in has been taken from her.
